Crafternoon Tea at Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester

This week I have been lucky enough to attend two Crafternoon Tea sessions at Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester. I’m always interested in learning new ways of crafting so this week it has been needlefelting (thanks to Kirstie Allsop for inspiring me to try this!) and 3D embroidery. Coincidentally the artist who tutored the needlefelting and I had just started following each other on Twitter last week! I noticed her tweets through the arts development work she does in communities around Manchester. Her website http://www.carolinecoates.co.uk has more links to her arts development work or follow her on Twitter  @carolinecoates.

Both days I made a bunny (what else?!) though the needlefelted one does look a little like a pig…..Pigbun? Pigbit? But check out his white quiff!

If you would like to take part in a Crafternoon Tea you need to be quick as the gallery is closing for a complete refurbishment in Autumn 2013 – http://whitworthadultprogramme.wordpress.com/crafternoon-tea/
